Costco continues to expand one of the benefits most valued by its partners in the United States: the possibility of charging fuel at its own stations. The chain is preparing 10 new warehouses with associated gas stations before the end of 2026, distributed in nine states.
Some stations started running before the main stores, while others will open along with the new warehouses during October and November.
California will be the only state with two of these new locations, while Texas and New York are also part of the expansion.
The 10 locations announced correspond to:
Five new warehouses are scheduled for October and five for November, according to information released on the expansion plan.
Costco confirms on its own upcoming opening page that Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and The Colony, Texas, are among the new locations scheduled for October.
Not all drivers will have to wait for the warehouse to open. In Camarillo, California, the new fuel station opened on May 1, 2026, while the warehouse is scheduled to start operating on October 30, 2026, according to Costco.
Something similar happens in Amherst, New York. Costco indicates that the station began operating on September 4, while the opening of the new warehouse is scheduled for October 28, 2026. The location will also have a pharmacy, optics, hearing center and tire service.
In Vallejo, California, the new station is expected to open in late October, before the opening of the new warehouse scheduled for November, according to information quoted by The Sun.
Costco also began experimenting with independent gas stations, separated from its traditional wholesale stores.
The first opened in June in Mission Viejo, California, in the Los Angeles metropolitan area.In addition, the company has planned to develop another facility of this type in Honolulu, Hawaii.
The Honolulu project includes 20 supply islands and 40 supply stations, within a $13.51 million renovation.
For many partners, fuel is one of the reasons to maintain membership. Costco stations typically operate for wider hours than warehouses and are reserved for chain members, although prices vary by location and may change daily.
For example, Costco directly displays in its warehouse search both timetables and current fuel prices for each station, although it warns that the definitive price is the one that appears on the supply at the time of the purchase.
The strategy also increases competition with other major U.S. chains, including Walmart and Sam’s Club, which have strengthened their presence in the power station business.
With the new opening scheduled for October and November, California, Texas, New York, Missouri, Kansas, Idaho, Arizona, Virginia and Wisconsin will be the states benefiting from this new phase of Costco expansion.
