Ferrari took everything learned in the races with the 296 GT3 Evo and decided to remove much of the restrictions imposed by the race. The result is the 296 GT Modificata, a machine designed exclusively for circuit and aimed at customers who want to take the driving experience much further.

Ferrari modified the engine, transmission, aerodynamics, brakes and much of the systems intended for track behavior.

In addition, its production will be strictly limited and its use will be linked to the Club Competizioni GT program.

The heart of this Ferrari remains a 2.992 cc biturbo V6 installed in center-back position and with architecture at 120 degrees.

The brand modified the beams, leaves, admission pipes, intercoolers and the turbocompressor. He also redesigned the power system and developed new exhaust tubes to meet the requirements of the car.

The result is 730 horsepower and 590 pounds-foot torque, which is 130 horsepower more than the 296 GT3 Evo, whose performance is conditioned by the Balance of Performance rules.

The transmission is also radically changing. Instead of a conventional configuration, the 296 GT Modificata uses a six-speed cross-sequential gearbox with carbon embray. Their relationships were adjusted specifically for the circuit.

Ferrari estimates that this combination could allow it to complete a round at Fiorano about three seconds faster than the 296 GT3 Evo.

The car was also developed considering high-speed behavior. The front features a new “Slotted Splitter” that helps to control air flow to the lower zone and increases aerodynamic load.

This solution helps to manage the hot air coming from the central front radiator and prevents it from interfering with the lateral intercoolers.

In the rear part appears one of the most striking elements of the set.It is an enormous redesigned flyer that incorporates a central support, new endplates and a 5 mm larger gurney flap.

The Ferrari declares a vacuum weight of 2,932 pounds, equivalent to 1,330 kg. It measures 5,033 mm long, 2,050 mm wide without mirrors and 1,082 mm tall.

The work does not end in the engine and aerodynamics. Ferrari installed new steel front discs aimed at improving ventilation and heat dissipation. It also added an air outlet in the lower area of the parachute to favor the cooling of the brakes.

The habitacleins a configuration for two persons. The accompanying person has a specific backpack and both occupants can communicate through an intercommunication system.

The idea makes sense within the program for which the car was created. The owner can share the sessions with an instructor and subsequently analyze their driving through the Data Acquisition System and VideoBox Premium.

They are also equipped with systems such as the IRTPMS Step 2, which controls tire pressure and temperature, as well as a Premium rear camera.

The 296 GT Modificata has a very specific purpose. It was not developed to drive on open roads or to compete under the regulations of a specific category. His stage is on the circuits and in the activities of Ferrari Club Competizioni GT.

The purchase includes two years of participation in the program, equivalent to 12 rounds. For 2027 are planned stages such as Jerez, Misano, Fuji, Paul Ricard, Spa-Francorchamps and Indianapolis.
