Ford is conducting a review of over 30,000 trucks sold in the US market due to a defect affecting the rear compartment functionality. The issue, which impacts various models within the F-150 and Super Duty line, poses a potential risk when transporting heavy loads.

The 2027 Kia EV6 lineup will remain unchanged, featuring seven distinct trim options.

A safety warning was recorded by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration under the campaign identifier 26V689000.

Ford has conceptualized a vehicle that remains stationary, but with a twist - its design is intended to deter theft rather than prevent it entirely.

A critical issue has been identified with the left cable system of the shuttle, which is responsible for maintaining the device's horizontal position when it is in an open state. If this cable were to fail, it could potentially cause a structural collapse, resulting in debris impacting the rear defense mechanism.

A design flaw in the support cable system has been identified, centered on a metal component that facilitates disassembly of the cable when the compost is removed.

Research suggests that certain units may be equipped with a malfunctioning press, potentially compromising their stability. If the left support cable fails, the right cable may be insufficient to maintain the compass's position, posing a risk to its accuracy.

The disengagement of a shuttle or transported object can lead to physical harm not only to the object itself but also to individuals in close proximity or relying on it for support.

The recall campaign affects a total of 30,123 trucks produced within a specific timeframe of May 30 to June 16, 2026.

Vehicle owners will need to verify their vehicle's involvement in the affected years by checking the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's (NHTSA) records, which will be accessible starting 7 December 2026, using the vehicle identification number (VIN).

Ford will initiate notifications to affected vehicle owners on December 14, 2026, regarding a necessary repair. Although the initial notification will be sent, the replacement of the left cable will not be available immediately, with the necessary parts expected to be in stock by January 2027.

Dealers will implement the necessary adjustments at no additional cost to customers. In the interim, it is advisable to refrain from placing heavy objects on the open door and to avoid using it as a standing surface.

The company has established a dedicated customer service hotline, accessible by dialing 1-866-436-7332, to address any questions or concerns consumers may have regarding this initiative.

Ford's quality control measures have come under scrutiny following a recent discovery. The issue was first identified by the company on June 13 during a load test at its Kentucky Truck plant. An investigation revealed that the supplier experienced difficulties with a matrix used in the cable pressing process.

The company had maintained a clean record on warranty claims, accidents, and injuries associated with the defect until October 19.

Ford has expanded its recall efforts, following a recent review of over 102,000 units of its trucks due to issues with the meters. This move comes as the company continues to develop new features for the 2027 F-150, a key model in its US market lineup.
