The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service has issued a consumer alert regarding the voluntary recall of over 1.6 million pounds of meat and poultry products that were not stored at proper refrigeration temperatures, posing potential health risks.

The regulatory body has issued a recall of various products, including sausages, toxin, res, and jam, all of which were manufactured by Kayem Foods Inc and distributed in multiple retail locations within the country, as well as exported to Hong Kong.

A recent report by the FSIS indicates that certain foods were subjected to temperature abuse during storage. The company responsible for the products claims they were stored in a refrigeration chamber, but the cooling system failed, resulting in temperature deviations.

The following Kayem and Triple M products have been impacted: Kayem turkey and pig sausages, Kayem thick-cut double smoked sausage, Kayem slow-smoked turkey breast, Genoa spicy sausage, chicken sausage with roasted pepper and Asiago Al Fresco cheese, and Triple M osseous jam filets.

The specified foods are produced on March 31 and October 7, bearing establishment numbers EST.M/P 7839, EST.P 20935a, and EST.M 9520, which are displayed within the USDA inspection seal.

The US Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service has issued a recommendation for consumers to discard or return a specific product due to potential food safety concerns. As of the current time, no reported cases of illnesses have been linked to the consumption of this product. Consumers are advised to discard the product or return it to the store for a refund.
