Subaru wants the Forester 2027 to be much more than a routine update. The great novelty of the range is the arrival of the Wilderness Hybrid, a combination that until now did not exist within the brand’s family and that brings the hybrid system to a configuration prepared for difficult terrain.

The new model develops 194 horsepower and retains the well-known symmetrical all-wheel drive of Subaru. It also incorporates 9.3-inch ground distance, Yokohama GEOLANDAR all-terrain tires and the X-MODE Dual-Mode system, elements that seek to keep the adventurous vocation of the Wilderness version intact.

Subaru will keep an entry price below $30,000 for the conventional Forester, while considerably expanding the hybrid offering.
The Forester 2027 will be available in the base, premium, Wilderness and Limited gasoline versions.On the hybrid side will appear Premium Hybrid, Sport Hybrid, Wilderness Hybrid, Limited Hybrid and Touring Hybrid.
At the same time, some exclusively gasoline configurations are out of the offer, including the Sport, Sport Onyx Edition and Touring versions.
The Forester Base will start at $29,995, while the Premium Hybrid will start at $34,730.
The Wilderness Hybrid version is the one that concentrates much of the novelty. In addition to its 9.3 inch ground distance, it features symmetrical all-wheel drive, X-MODE with two modes and tyres designed for all-terrain surfaces.
Subaru’s idea is to combine those features with the advantages of the hybrid system, especially a greater efficiency over the Wilderness equipped only with a gasoline engine.
All Forester 2027s offer at least 8.7 inches of ground distance, all-wheel drive and the EyeSight driver assistance system.
Traditional versions use a 2.5 litre Subaru Boxer engine with 180 horsepower.All models use a Lineartronic CVT transmission.
The hybrids employ an evolution of the 2.5 litre Boxer with Atkinson/Miller cycle, accompanied by electric motors and a high-capacity lithium-ion battery. The set delivers the 194 horse powers announced by Subaru.
The brand also strives to maintain a good technological load throughout the range. A 11.6-inch multimedia display, wirelessly compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, is part of the equipment of the Forester models.
The 12.3-inch digital dashboard comes standard on the Wilderness and all hybrid versions, including the new Wilderness Hybrid.
With the Forester 2027, Subaruins an entry door of $29,995 and expands the possibilities for those looking for electrification without giving up on all-wheel drive.
The advent of the Wilderness Hybrid is striking because it combines two concepts that were previously separated within the range. On the one hand there is the efficiency of the hybrid system and, on the other hand, a configuration designed for more demanding roads.
The result is a Forester that does not abandon its adventurous profile, but now offers a hybrid alternative also for those who want to get out of the asphalt without staying only with the gasoline versions.
