A shooting at a primary school in Bend, Oregon, resulted in the deaths of three students and a teacher, and investigators are exploring the possibility that the perpetrator's fascination with Nazism may have played a significant role in the incident.

Law enforcement officials have confirmed the identity of the individual responsible for the shooting at Silver Rail Primary School as Griffin J. John, a 16-year-old former student of the institution.

Investigations are underway, led by the FBI in conjunction with state authorities, into potential connections between the attacker and online extremist organizations, according to information provided by police sources.

Law enforcement agencies are currently investigating potential ties between various groups, with a specific focus on one entity known as "764," which has been identified as an active presence on the messaging platform Discord.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has designated "764" as a violent online entity that targets and harasses children and other vulnerable individuals.

The FBI has expressed growing concern about networks of violent predators who form online relationships with minors and other vulnerable individuals, exploiting them to engage in increasingly violent and sexual behavior. These individuals, operating on popular online platforms, coerce their victims into creating explicit content and child sexual abuse material, as well as encouraging them to harm themselves or others, including siblings and pets.

The statement further noted that certain predators are exploiting live broadcasts of self-injury and other violent content to continue coercing their victims and maintaining control over them, a tactic referred to as Online Sadist Exploitation.

Law enforcement officials have seized the suspect's electronic devices from his mother's residence and are currently examining his digital footprint.

Bend police have confirmed that one of the students who lost their life in the shooting was 5-year-old Rhoam Summer.

The parents of Rhoam shared a heartfelt statement, describing their son's joyful moments with them, including cooking together, embracing each other, and singing to lift his spirits when feeling down. They also highlighted his creative pursuits, where he would craft imaginative stories and develop unique voices for each character.

The identities of the two deceased students, aged 8 and 11, remain undisclosed by authorities.

Megan Lambert, a 25-year-old Bend native, had achieved her lifelong career aspirations, as per her family's account.

A 36-year-old local resident intervened in the incident by following the attacker to a school, where he was subsequently shot. The resident, later identified as Kaylub Giamanco, a father of two girls who attend the school, was present at the scene.

A teacher, who was in poor health, intervened to prevent further violence by distracting the attacker with a cell phone, thereby reducing the potential threat.
