A Los Angeles County Superior Court judge rejected a Spanish woman's ask for a new phrase on Monday after she admitted first-degree death in the beating death of her 8-year-old child.
For the death of her child, Gabriel Fernandez, in May 2013, Pearl Sinthia Fernandez, 42, received a life sentence in prison without the possibility of a parole in March 2018. Fernandez has since filed two pertains to have her word reviewed, alleging that she can no longer be tried for murder and that some homicide defendants are affected by recent changes in state law.
