Paramount Skydance has successfully completed one of the largest media mergers in history, following a significant acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery. The deal came after a prolonged dispute with Netflix and faced opposition from prominent figures in the arts community.

A major acquisition was finalized at a value of $110 billion, effectively solidifying the merger between two of the five largest film studios in Hollywood.

The new company, dubbed "Skydance," will oversee a vast media portfolio, encompassing multiple studios, as well as a significant presence in the television and streaming sectors, including control of Paramount+ and HBO Max.

David Ellison, head of the merger, hailed today as a pivotal moment not only for Skydance but for the entire industry.

Skydance has appointed Ynon Kreiz, a seasoned executive with prior experience at Mattel, as its new co-executive director. In this role, Kreiz will oversee the company's day-to-day operations, allowing David Ellison to concentrate on developing Skydance's creative vision.

Skydance, a prominent film and television production company, recently shared an update on their social media platform.

Paramount Skydance has completed the acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery following receipt of antimonopoly approvals from the U.S. Department of Justice, the European Union, and other regulatory bodies. The deal has, however, been met with opposition, with 12 U.S. states and the U.S. Writers' Union filing lawsuits in response.

A group of industry professionals, represented by the gremio, have voiced concerns over the potential loss of thousands of jobs and increased production costs in a letter signed by thousands of actors, directors, screenwriters, and producers.

David Ellison has reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining a separation between CBS and CNN, with Bari Weiss and Mark Thompson serving as respective leaders of the two entities.

Skydance has announced that Dana Goldberg and Josh Greenstein will jointly oversee the Skydance Motion Picture Group, assuming co-directorial responsibilities. Meanwhile, James Gunn and Peter Safran will remain at the helm of DC Studios.
