For decades it served as a private shelter for Dolly Parton and now attracts the attention of buyers and admirers of the singer. It is an old house located in Solvang, California, which the artist bought in 2004 and kept until 2014.
Currently, it belongs to real estate businessman Cris Lapp, who acquired it in 2022.After Parton’s death on August 25, 2026, at the age of 80, interest in the property increased considerably.

According to the New York Times, Cris Lapp is selling the complex for $1,995 million.
The property is located on 561 Alisal Road, in the heart of Solvang, a Danish-inspired town. The complex occupies approximately a quarter of an acre and gathers around 2,510 square feet (233 square meters) distributed in three units.
Essentially, it is a house built in the 1920s, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms.
However, in the back there are two other units: a three bedroom and two bathroom apartment and another smaller one bedroom and a bathroom.
Parton bought the ensemble in 2004 for a sum that did not publicly transcend and sold it a decade later for $940,000. Lapp paid approximately $1,367 million in 2022 and subsequently invested around $100,000 in renovation work.
The owner began offering it again in May 2026, but after the death of Parton was known, he assured that he had received numerous inquiries, although he had not accepted an offer he considered appropriate.
The property preserves several elements related to the time when the singer used it as a weekend escape.
One of the most peculiar details is a space known as “Wig Room”, used to store your wigs. There are also reflecting windows, which make it difficult for people from the outside to observe the interior.
In the façade there is also a vitral on the main door with the name “Dolly” accompanied by a yellow butterfly.
The terrain also includes a small bird structure with a chapel appearance and a space for dogs.
Finally, another peculiar detail related to privacy is that some doors and windows were reinforced during the singer’s time. The intention was to limit the possibility that admirers or photographers could observe her while she stayed in the home.
