Mike Pence assures that the Democrats have lost their minds
Republican Mike Pence acknowledges that his party has deviated from some campaign promises, but sees Democrats in a worse position
Mike Pence, the nation's former vice president, claims that Democrats have lost their minds by allowing the agenda of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) to prevail, which could further separate them from citizens ahead of the midterm elections.
During an interview given to WABC's “Cats & Cosby” radio program, the Republican who failed in the attempt to win his party's presidential candidacy in the last elections, anticipated that the elections to be held on November 3 will be decisive for the future of both parties and therefore for the nation.
"This upcoming election couldn't be more important in the life of the nation. I tell people that.
I also think that, in a way, I disagree a little with the direction that the Republican Party is taking: the nationalization of companies, price controls, some flirting with isolationism,” he said.
Immediately afterwards, the Indiana politician acknowledged that, both within the conservative party and the Democratic party, there have been significant changes, which have most affected those who became a minority since January of last year.
"I think the Republicans have strayed from the path, but the Democrats have lost their minds. The agenda of the Democratic Socialists of America is taking over the Democratic Party," he emphasized, referring to the cases of Zohran Mamdani, mayor of New York City, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, representative of New York.
Another of the problems of the Democrats not pointed out by Mike Pence has to do with Ken Martin, president of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), whose promise to restructure his party heading into the elections to arrive strengthened and regain control of the House of Representatives, as well as the Senate, has fallen far short.
Said by some important Democrats, the politician originally from Minnesota has generated a divisiveness detected by important donors and from there derives the enormous advantage that the Republican Party already has in terms of raising money to purchase advertising campaigns in spaces and prime times heading into the midterm elections.
Despite this, the discontent of a large sector of the population towards the increases in housing, energy and food prices could manifest itself through a vote of punishment towards the Trump administration.
