US President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado would come to Washington next week.
During an interview on Fox News' "Hannity" show, Trump was asked if he planned to meet with Machado following the US attacks on Venezuela that led to the capture of its president, Nicolas Maduro. Maduro.
“Well, I understand she'll be coming sometime next week, and I'm looking forward to greeting her,” Trump responded.
Machado stated in an interview with that same American television station a few days ago that she would like to present the Nobel Prize to Trump for his efforts to restore democracy to Venezuela.
“I heard she wanted to do it. It would be a great honor,” Trump said when asked about that gesture.
