The panorama of the super middleweight division remains active ahead of the confrontation scheduled for next September 12 in Asian territory.

Less than three months after making the first defense of his championship, the French nationalized boxer of Cameroonian origin, Christian Mbilli, explained the tactical advantages he has to face the former unified champion Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez.

The fight will represent the opportunity for the European boxer to consolidate his position at 168 pounds against one of the historical leaders of the category.

Far from showing reservations about his opponent's trajectory, the current monarch of the World Boxing Council (WBC) argued that his fighting pace will generate unprecedented complications in the performance of the boxer from Jalisco.

Christian Mbilli's physical preparation and hitting volume

The strategy of the European camp is based on maintaining a constant offensive that does not allow the rival to recover in the ring.

When asked about the differences that the Guadalajara fighter will experience compared to his previous opponents in the division, the owner of the absolute belt detailed the intensity he plans to project in the ring.

"My aggressiveness and my pressure. He has never fought with someone who throws as many punches as me and who exerts so much pressure. And yes, physically I am going to destroy him," declared Christian Mbilli during his intervention on the digital program Mr. Verzace Podcast, pointing out that the demands in physical preparation will be the determining factor to tip the balance in his favor on the September evening.

Despite registering a smaller number of professional commitments compared to the trajectory of its opponent, Christian Mbilli's team seeks to consolidate the performance it showed last year in Las Vegas, where he obtained a victory against Lester Martínez on the same card in which Álvarez lost his world crowns to Terence Crawford.

Strategic modifications for September 12

The planning for this confrontation will not be limited to repeating the work schemes used in their previous championship defenses.

The European athlete pointed out that the magnitude of the card requires a technical evolution that will surprise analysts of the discipline and the Mexican boxer's own team once the fight begins.

"It will not be the Christian Mbilli that everyone knows. It will be a 200 percent Christian Mbilli. It will not be the normal Christian Mbilli, it will be a super Christian Mbilli," added the boxer to describe the physical evolution he has developed during the current cycle of high-performance training.
