CHIRLA denounces attack on immigrant helplines in Los Angeles
The coalition defending the human rights of immigrants said the Trump administration is trying to block its help on hotlines
The Trump administration's politically motivated attack on information and assistance hotlines for immigrant communities was denounced by the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights ( CHIRLA ).
Assistant U. S. Attorney for the Central District of California, Bill Essayli, the coalition, urged the public to dial hotlines to torment organizations, such as CHIRLA, to provide misleading leads, and overwhelm their services, including resources that would block their support to immigrants. More than 20 000 people are able to get advice and assistance from the organization's alerts every year, according to staff from CHIRLA.
