A Los Angeles-based Hispanic man did not contest the second-degree murder charges against him for the death of his 15-month-old brother on May 12, 201.
Assistant District Attorney Jonathan Hatami said Jose Juan Herrera, 38, of El Sereno, received a 15-year sentence to living in state prison right away.
After Herrera's trial day of January 29, 2026, a guilty plea was entered on Thursday in a downtown Los Angeles court.
