The City of Los Angeles refused to bring to the November ballot the proposal to allow non-citizens the right to vote in Los Angeles Unified School District municipal and board votes.

The members of the Los Angeles City Council voted on Tuesday, June 30, in favor of withdrawing the measure that would have brought the proposal to the ballots of the electoral process on November 3.

Councillors voted to send the draft proposal to a committee for further study after several members said it had not been properly reviewed, the Los Angeles Times reported.
