More than 50 % of American consumers declared that holiday shopping is demanding only weeks before the holiday season, according to a survey conducted by Deloitte.

This occurs in the midst of significant economic uncertainty, which has caused several households to make drastic budget decisions and lower discretionary spending, especially during the holiday season, when larger purchases are commonly made.

According to the survey report, Deloitte, PwC, and Accenture collaborated to develop a report that noted that going on holiday shopping frequently leads to disappointment and indouciance. However, in recent years this situation has gotten worse due to a substantial element: lack of money. Some people are no longer able to make their regular purchases due to the inability to obtain discretionary spending, which causes stress to reach record levels. In this regard, Dr. Hannah Nearney, medical physician and medical director of Flow Neuroscience in the UK, made the observation that people who shop are both overburdened and underdeveloped because they are constantly making decisions. She continued, "Economic doubt keeps the brain and nervous system in a constant state of anxiety and awareness. People find it challenging to maintain their holiday shopping and organizing because of this. We can't love the holidays as much. Additionally, according to the survey results, 57 % of consumers anticipate that the economy's weakening will remain in 2019 and that this will make them more optimistic about their spending.
