Personnel from the Secretary of the Navy (Semar) acting as Coast Guard, seized a smaller vessel with four outboard motors and three crew members on board in the waters of the Pacific Ocean, southwest of the state of Chiapas.

According to a statement, the detainees were transporting 38 packages of cocaine and 33 drums with approximately 840 liters of fuel to reach their destination.

This action is part of maritime patrol and surveillance tours carried out by naval personnel, during which packages were detected on the coastal strip, which were secured at that moment.

The approximate weight of the seized drug is 1,140 kilograms of cocaine, which was made available to the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) to initiate the corresponding investigations and determine which criminal group the drug belonged to.

This seizure represents an economic impact of approximately 14 million dollars, which weakens the financial and operational structure of criminal groups.

Likewise, this action prevented approximately more than two million doses from reaching society, as reported in the statement.

In the current administration there are close to 80 tons of cocaine seized at sea. These actions are part of the permanent maritime, air and land surveillance operations carried out by the Secretary of the Navy through the Mexican Navy.
