Services for YOU: Senior Health Fair and Legislative Briefing on August 14
At the Carson Community Center, seniors will be able to receive free preventive and vital screenings
My monthly older health fair will take place at the Carson Community Center on Friday, August 14. Seniors will be able to get a hot meal, completely preventative and important screenings, and free food. Seniors in California should be able to receive high-quality medical care without having to pay a lot of money, which is why we're bringing some necessary service to the 44th District of California.
Various health testing and exams will be provided by health organizations, including:
– Blood pressure tests, cholesterol tests, mental health tests, medical exams, heart exams, thyroid tests, and vision exams.
This incident occurs at a time when Donald Trump's and the Republicans ' failed economic policies have made it extremely difficult for seniors to obtain quality health care.
Trump dramatically reduced Medicaid and refused to renew Affordable Care Act tax credits, which helped lower costs for Americans, last month, denying millions of Americans access to health care. Through his massive revenue costs, known as the One Big Beautiful Bill, he paid for billionaire tax cuts. The largest Medicaid reduction in history is$ 1 billion. More than 2 million Californians may reduce their health insurance coverage as a result of these breaks, according to estimates, and a huge percentage of them are elderly.
A saver, healthcare. It is frequently the only type of insurance that provides long-term treatment, such as nursing home care, home health care, and other service elderly require. Additionally, hospitals rely on Medicaid to keep their windows opened, especially in rural areas and low-income neighborhoods, where seniors have a harder time getting attention. Numerous seniors will be left without access to the important treatments or prescription medications without the assistance of Medicaid.
Our elderly should be able to visit the doctor without having to compromise things like their next meal or the use of their air conditioning. House Democrats may continue to fight for a country that is cheap. We may work first to slow Medicaid funding cuts and lower overall health care costs. The United States should be a spot you can afford to live in when you work hard and adhere to the rules.
Call my office at 310-831-1799 to Email for our Senior Health Fair. The good is open to the public, but California District 44 residents have focus seating. I'd like to see you there. You need affordable and accessible care.
See you immediately!
