Through a statement, the Department of the Interior announced that the four gold-plated equestrian statues of the Arts of War and the Arts of Peace will undergo restoration work that will include gilding.

“We are maximizing the aura of Washington, DC, before the 250th anniversary of the United States,” says part of the letter.
