Chevrolet has implemented a price adjustment for the 2027 Blazer EV, with the base model now starting at $46,795, inclusive of the target charge. This increase of $300 from the 2026 model reflects a strategic pricing decision, despite the relatively low demand for the electric SUV.

Porsche has unveiled plans to develop a high-performance electric vehicle that will surpass the capabilities of the iconic 911 model.

The starting price for the vehicle is $45,000, with an additional destination fee of $1,795. The base model, featuring front-wheel drive, is equipped with a 288-horsepower engine and boasts an estimated range of approximately 312 miles.

Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD has filed a patent application for a system designed to refrigerate immersion batteries, a technology aimed at improving battery performance and lifespan. The proposed system involves cooling the batteries using a refrigerant, potentially enhancing their thermal management and overall efficiency.

The all-wheel drive option results in a reduced estimated range of approximately 283 miles, a decrease of nearly 30 miles from the standard range.

Tesla's vehicles now feature a standard NACS port, also referred to as SAE J3400, allowing owners to utilize the company's Supercharger network without the need for an adapter. This convenience is particularly beneficial for extended road trips. Additionally, an optional adapter is available for purchase at a cost of $398, enabling users to connect to CCS or J1772 charging stations.

A new design element has been incorporated into the vehicle, featuring a sleek black wheel reminiscent of the Blazer SS, as well as a shark-type antenna in matching black finish. Additionally, a standard feature has been added, consisting of a handling recorder with a surrounding view capability that utilizes the vehicle's onboard cameras.

Chevrolet's third-quarter sales of the Blazer EV in 2026 plummeted by more than 80% compared to the same period in 2025, with only 1,261 units sold in 2026, down from 8,089 units in 2025, despite federal tax credits still being available to buyers.

Chevrolet's electric vehicle sales have significantly declined over the past year, with the brand selling 4,427 units in the current period, a substantial 78% decrease from the 20,825 units sold during the same time frame in the previous year. This marked decline is particularly concerning given the model's intended status as a key electric offering from the automaker.

The loss of tax incentives for electric vehicle buyers is largely attributed to the expiration of the $7,500 tax credit, which was suspended by the Internal Revenue Service in September 2025.

Hyundai's Ioniq 5 faces stiff competition in the market, as it is outpriced by alternatives with longer ranges and faster charging capabilities, including the Chevrolet Bolt EV and Nissan Leaf. A $300 price reduction may not be enough to sway new customers, given the existing options available.
