Hombre muere tras presunto ataque de tres perros en Texas
Un hombre fue hallado muerto este lunes en una zona residencial del noroeste de Katy, Texas
A neighborhood in the northwest area of ??Katy, Texas, woke up in shock this Monday after the discovery of the lifeless body of a man who, according to initial reports, had been attacked by three dogs.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez reported that the incident occurred near the 2500 block of Porter, northwest of Highway 99 and Interstate 10.
Prior to the official announcement, Harris County Fire Department Unit 48 issued an emergency alert to residents of the area.
“Be alert. Stay away from the park at Morton Rd and Porter Rd. Three aggressive dogs are on the loose,” firefighters warned in a message released through official channels.
Mother and daughter were injured by bites
Shortly after the discovery of the deceased man, authorities confirmed another incident involving the same animals.
According to Sheriff Gonzalez, officers responded to a call in the Permission Creek Lane area, where a woman and her daughter were bitten by dogs.
“Both were taken to the hospital with minor injuries,” Gonzalez stated on his social media.
So far it has not been confirmed whether the bites are directly related to the attack that allegedly caused the man's death.
Park closed as a preventative measure
Given the risk to the community, District 4 Commissioner Leslie Briones announced the temporary closure of Mason Creek Park, both in its north and south sections.
Authorities are conducting an active investigation to clarify the exact circumstances of the attack, identify the dog owners, and determine any potential legal liabilities.
For now, area residents have been urged to remain vigilant and avoid open areas until further notice.
