The legal conflict between Mexican Fatima Bosch and Thai director Nawat Itsaragrisil has formally escalated on the institutional level. The winner of the Miss Universe contest went on September 21 to the headquarters of the Prosecutor General of the Mexican Republic (FGR) in the Mexican capital to presencially ratify the complaint against the businessman.
The criminal action seeks to unleash responsibilities for possible conduct constitutive of crime, including gender violence, discrimination, digital harassment, intimidation and attacks on personal dignity. The investigation was officially integrated under the file number FED/FEVIMTRA/FEIDTRA-EXT/0000549/2026.
The lawsuit brings to the criminal ground the frictions they both held during the Miss Universe 2025 ceremony held in Thailand. At the time, the Mexican representative publicly stated that she had received verbal aggression and hostile treatment by Itsaragrisil during the dynamics prior to the event, a situation that was exposed after recordings of the altercations spread.
In the face of the case, the prosecutor’s body of justice had already issued a series of urgent protection measures aimed at safeguarding the physical and psychological safety of the queen of beauty. Such preventive provisions shall remain in force in parallel with the implementation of the procedures required by the Ministry of Public Affairs to clarify the facts and determine whether there are merits to proceed judicially against the employer.
