Actor Hugh Jackman surprised the public after offering the opportunity to earn a month of free accommodation in his luxurious New York apartment, which he put on sale in March 2023.
This property formed a fundamental part of her love story with her now-ex-wife Deborra-Lee Furness. However, it was put on sale in March this year for $29 million, this after a first attempt in June 2022, for a sum of $54.2 million that was not realised.
But why did Hugh Jackman decide to grant the possibility of living a month without paying rent in his New York home? This is a joint initiative with Ankur Jain, founder of the Bilt app, in the most recent edition of the “Rent Free” program.
This format involves different celebrities intervening in challenges so that members of the online platform can get a month of free accommodation.
“This September, @bilt members join @glblctzn and Global Citizen ambassador @thehughjackman to participate in *Rent Free*; the better results he gets, the more members will get the free rental,” the Instagram post read.
“Hugh, two Tony Awards winner and an Emmy and a Grammy winner, returns this month to present the Global Citizen Festival in New York City,” he said.
Despite this initiative, it was revealed that the property is still looking for a buyer willing to cover the cost of $29 million listed on the website.
