Less and less is needed for the premiere of “The One About Matthew Perry,” the Netflix documentary that tells the story behind the “Friends” star and gives an unprecedented look at the obstacles he faced much of his life.
Through its official channels, the streaming platform confirmed that it will be next October 27 when the documentary will be available in its catalogue worldwide.
“Through intimate testimonies from close family and friends, the series reveals the real Matthew Perry, a generous, funny, vulnerable, extraordinary person, and the battles he faced to become the man behind the icon,” the official synopsis of the play says.
Alongside this description, Netflix released the first official look at the documentary, which features Matthew Perry’s own voice-in-off narration, generating an atmosphere of nostalgia from the first seconds.
“You can do me whatever you want, just, please, make me famous (...) God has not forgotten the other part,” he is heard saying as images of his first appearances on television are projected.
The audience expressed their excitement ahead of the upcoming premiere of “The One About Matthew Perry” with messages like: “I definitely have clothes ready for this”, “This is so important”, “I hope you know how much it was and yet it’s loved” and “We’re already emotional! The most special and talented human,” to name a few.
Matthew Perry in October 2023, at the age of 54 and with an artistic trajectory of more than three decades. Reports shared by the Los Angeles Forensic Medical Office, the histrion died as a result of the “acute effects of ketamine” and drowning.
