The future of the irreverent Wade Wilson within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (UCM) is assured. After the box office success of “Deadpool & Wolverine,” Ryan Reynolds confirmed that the antihero will return to the big screen with a new installment that is already in the development phase.
The announcement was made by the actor himself during his participation at the “Fanatics Fest” event in New York. Before the fans of the franchise, Reynolds dispelled doubts about the continuity of the character and made it clear that the journey of the mercenary in the red suit is far from over in the cinema.
"There are things on the way. Eventually there will be another Deadpool movie," said the 49-year-old performer.
During his speech, Reynolds announced that the new project will seek to rescue passages and deep references from the comics that have not yet been adapted into films. In particular, he highlighted the influence of the stages written by Fabian Nicieza – co-creator of the character – and screenwriter Gerry Duggan. “There are some incredible elements of comics that I love that have yet to be shown on the big screen,” he added.
