Prince Harry has played his first public act since the announcement of his return to the UK with his wife Meghan Markle and their children Archie and Lilibet. However, despite the anticipation that generated the sighting of the Duke of Sussex, Lady Di's younger son surprised by appearing alone at the gala of the Invictus Spirit Awards.
Founded in an elegant costume and glowing his military medals, the member of the British royal family made his arrival at the Old Royal Naval College, where he met with former participants of the Invictus Games, the sports competition for wounded military and veterans in fulfillment of the duty he himself promoted in 2014.
Although in 2020, both he and his wife Meghan ceased to be active members of the British royal family, Prince Harry proudly wore the four military and service medals he obtained during his time in the army.
These include: the Medal of Operational Service in Afghanistan, the Medal of the Golden and Diamond Jubilee of Elizabeth II, the Medal of the Platinum Jubilee of 2022, as well as the Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order.
After stealing the reflectors with his arrival at the Old Royal Naval College, King Charles III's son delivered a speech in which he highlighted the importance of being close to those who go through difficulties and recognizing the teachings veterans can provide beyond their military experience.
“People are watching you. The man who is going through a bad moment. The young soldier who asks himself how life will be after the uniform. The family is trying to find its way forward. Maybe you don’t wear the uniform anymore, but you’re still a leader,” he said during the gala.
The public appearance of the famous man comes just weeks after he moved to the United Kingdom with his family after six years living in the United States. The Duke of Sussex chose to settle in a residence in the Cotswolds, a rural region in the middle-west of England, known for its lavender fields and epoch architecture.
While the audience is waiting for Meghan Markle’s return to public life, the actress shares an unprecedented look at her new life in the UK, including her walks in the countryside, as well as quiet days at home.
