Los Angeles Mayor Accelerates Cleanup After Boyle Heights Fire
Two executive orders seek to accelerate the cleanup of the facility that burned on June 14 to protect the community of Boyle Heights and nearby neighborhoods
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass issued two executive orders on Monday to speed up cleanup efforts at the warehouse fire in Boyle Heights, as well as to promise to hold those responsible for the conflagration accountable.
The smell of 85 million pounds of rotting food inside the frozen food facility can be smelled several miles away, harming residents and businesses in the area.
The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) announced that it would not hand over the facility to the company that operated it, Lineage Logistics, until the risk of the fire reigniting completely disappeared.
