Political Round: Leaders are lacking in the face of the war against immigrants
In Los Angeles, the hunt for undocumented immigrants has not stopped; ICE operates by applying racial profiling
The whole country has been terrified by the murders of Renee Good and Alex Pretti by President Trump's emigration police in Minneapolis, not to mention the unauthorized community in Los Angeles, who wonder what lies ahead if they murder American citizens.
Some claim that" we in Los Angeles have already been through," as if it were a comfort. And despite ICE and the Border Patrol thwarting their efforts in various locations controlled by Democrats, the search continues unabated in Los Angeles. Immigration is frequently detained fiercely on the roads. They are grabbed by a number of veiled agents, who then thrust them into their vans like potato sacks. They have also targeted farmers, construction workers, and yet rose vendors on street corners. They haven't just targeted day laborers, men looking for work outside Home Depot stores, vehicle washers, and street vendors. People they see working in public or performing jobs that white people do not want to do is, in the eyes of ICE, suspected of being an unauthorized person.
People have even been escorted from the streets outside the Los Angeles Guatemalan Consulate. No place is valued in any way.
In the face of all this, there is a sense of leadership and that the Democrats aren't doing much to support the Trump Administration in the form of legal arguments, such as those used to justify the use of racial stereotyping.
Remember that the Supreme Court authorized federal emigration agents in Los Angeles to use competition and other racial discrimination factors to choose who to apprehend and possibly jail. And they follow every rule.
According to the Los Angeles-based Mexican Consulate, the majority of the Mexican detained by immigration authorities in this region are from Oaxaca.
Our leaders, California representatives, need to organize and work now, and they don't bet everything on the midterm elections, which could change the composition of the chamber. And that's not even considering that there are Democrats who are staunch supporters of the party. Consider the case of the seven Democrats who joined Republicans in passing the ICE resources costs. Thankfully, none of them are Californians. However, they are present here as well. Don't become comfortable.
A brutal competition
More than any of the other five candidates vying to unseat Councilwoman Eunisses Hernandez, the battle of Maria Lou Calanche, the candidate for District 1 of the Los Angeles City Council, announced that they had raised$ 135, 000 in donations from 450 people.
This number, in Calanche's opinion, reflects the dissatisfaction with the Los Angeles City Council District 1 leadership currently under Hernandez's management in some way.
" People are ready for a new way because we deserve better," said Calanche, who lives in Boyle Heights and is the leader of the nonprofit organization Legacy LA. She is also the current chairman of the Expand LA plan, which provides after-school service for young people.
Hernandez ' removal from the Council is most likely to be done by her and Raul Claros. However, Nelson Grande, Jesse Rosas, Rosa Requeno, and Sylvia Robledo are just a few prospects. So we're looking at what has the potential to be the most violent plan locally.
It's odd that Councilwoman Hernandez is ultimately very energetic, in my opinion.
Why do officials put their careers on hold until they are in serious trouble before taking the lead? When they launch a election campaign, they don't quit, and once they win, they start running.
Maybe Councilwoman Hernandez attempted to solve the major issues at MacArthur Park, but it is obvious that her efforts failed because the classic site is plagued by drug use and crime, and it is now considered a second Skid Row, with both the park and the surrounding area acting as the ideal setting for a horror film.
