Political Round: LA Mayor launches reelection campaign

Karen Bass's political allies come out in support at the official launch of her campaign

Political Round LA Mayor launches reelection campaign

Mayor of Los Angeles Karen Bass formally launched her reelection campaign in December, surrounded by her political friends, including CHIRLA's head Angelica Salas, former Assembly Leader Fabian Nunez, and Councilman Hugo Soto-Martinez, Senator Maria Elena Durazo, and of course, her political allies.

The Los Angeles County Federation of Unions committee members Marqueece Harris-Dawson, Curren Price, and Jean Wheeler were just a few of the African American officials.

It was obvious that past president Antonio Villaraigosa, who has been her most effective socially, was absent.

Bass's election campaign promises the reduction of crime, the motion of affordable housing construction, and the fight against poverty, which she claims is extraordinary in decades.

There are 18 candidates for governor of Los Angeles, and you didn't believe it. Austin Beautner, a former director of knowledge, and Assad Alnajjar, a city engineer, are two of the most well-known figures.

Angelenos are uneasy with Mayor Bass, and it's not just because of how poorly he handled the Pacific Palisades fire, but because her campaign's goal of reducing poverty has not been met and has gotten worse in locations like MacArthur Park and some of the town center's. Despite this annoyance, Bass will most likely win re-election by default because she has no real enemies and because the organizations and the Democratic establishment, with all the support available, support her. It's possible to issue her, but Rick Caruso may be wondering if it's worthwhile to throw away another million dollars without having a chance of winning because it's difficult to defeat Bass with union support. So it's possible that Bass will stay in office for another four times, and that no other Democratic candidate will dare to challenge her.

Villaraigosa is recovering.

Past president Villaraigosa is well known for not receiving the funding he needs to run for governor. However, it has just become known that he has already raised$ 5 million. The issue was that he had to wait a month and a half to acquire it. And for his adversary, businessman Tom Steyer, that money is as easy as pulling a cat's hair out of his finances in a matter of seconds. Villaraigosa also fires pictures from all angles. He only revealed the absences of the unidentified Congressman Erick Swalwell, who has just entered the governor's race and, in an uncommon case, miraculously showed up as the party's candidate of the year. Since the federal government reopened following the shutdown, Swalwell hasn't appeared at the Capitol or cast a ballot. He is the only part of the California congressional committee to abstain from a decision to remove President Trump. Why don't Swalwell say that if Obama and Harris lost a lot of crucial vote while fighting for the presidency, why shouldn't he? since he's not Obama or Harris.

Campaign costs are decreasing.

After his opponent, former legislator Isadore Hall, accused him of using his dogs ' picture in both his offices and for his plan, Corgi dogs, became the focus of Comptroller Kenneth Mexia's election campaign.

Isadore claims that the comptroller's plan branding and other design aspects match the official website, giving the impression that the city supports his candidacy.

Although the problem does have merit, it didn't go somewhere because it's not really serious, Mexia responded that these are inexpensive attacks and said that his Corgis will continue to support the campaign even if he is forced to conceal them.

This dog plan issue demonstrates how inexpensive campaigns are becoming.
