Eddie Hearn states that Joshua prefers Bradley over Fury
Eddie Hearn explained that Joshua wants to become world champion again in the division and that's why this fight seems more attractive to him
Eddie Hearn, promoter of Matchroom Boxing, stated that Anthony Joshua is more interested in fighting Fabio Wardley for the World Boxing Organization (WBO) heavyweight title than Tyson Fury.
In an interview with Boxing Social, Hearn explained that Joshua wants to become world champion again in the category, and that's why this matchup seems more appealing to him.
“That's the world heavyweight title. In fact, AJ prefers it over Tyson Fury. AJ would love to win the world heavyweight title again,” said the promoter.
After his victory over Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua stated that he wants to face Tyson Fury next, who has been taunting him on social media, but Fabio Wardley could also be his next opponent.
In his recent fight, Joshua shook off his rust and pursued Paul in the early rounds, as his opponent spent most of the time running around the ring to avoid his powerful punches. Midway through the fight, the YouTuber-turned-boxer showed signs of fatigue, and that was his downfall.
The Briton was able to connect with the American and knocked him down four times (twice in the fifth and twice more in the sixth). It was precisely in that round that Joshua finished Paul with a powerful right hand that fractured his jaw in two places. Anthony Joshua, 36, recovered from his knockout loss to Daniel Dubois last September by finishing Paul. The Briton has a record of 29 wins, 25 of them by knockout, and four losses. Meanwhile, Fabio Wardley, 30, became the undisputed WBO champion after Oleksandr Usyk vacated the belt to avoid facing him. The British fighter remains undefeated after 20 fights, 19 by knockout, and one draw.
