Rayados de Monterrey have reportedly renewed their efforts to acquire the services of Argentine striker Luca Orellano from FC Cincinnati, according to unofficial reports that Rayados sporting president Jose Antonio Noriega has sent a counter-proposal to secure his services.

Orellano is a player in whom the Monterrey team has shown particular interest due to his ability, skill, and above all, his explosiveness up front, which would strengthen the position currently held by the Mexican-Argentine German Berterame.

The Monterrey management is simply waiting for a response from the Ohio team to move forward with the arrival of the South American striker after Orellano accepted the offer for the next two years to join Liga MX.

According to several Monterrey media outlets, Monterrey is awaiting a response to the offer they made a few hours ago, expressing their interest in the Argentine and hoping the North American team is willing to negotiate the transfer of one of their key players.

Orellano is not the only player the board is trying to bring to the team. They have apparently set their sights on Jose Luis Rodriguez of FC Juarez, Luiz Araujo of Flamengo, and Johan Rojas himself, whose stay with the club they are trying to extend.

Luca Orellano's Career

Luca Orellano is 25 years old and turned professional in 2018 with Velez Sarsfield. He then moved to Vasco da Gama in Brazil, from where he joined Cincinnati a year ago in Major League Soccer, playing 66 matches and scoring 15 goals.

It was precisely because of his performance in MLS that Monterrey's coach, the Spaniard Domenec Torrent, asked the board to make an effort to sign him, after the team lacked offensive firepower last season with the presence of the Frenchman Anthony. Martial, Roberto de la Rosa, Lucas Ocampo and Michel Rodriguez, who couldn't contribute much to the team, are said to be involved in a transfer. It's claimed that their transfer fee would be around $5 million, and the availability of non-Mexican player slots wouldn't be a problem, given the departure of Spaniard Sergio Ramos, who decided to leave the team from northern Mexico. The offer from Monterrey seems attractive to the North Americans, but so far they are only waiting for a response from Cincinnati, one of the most prominent teams in Major League Soccer.
