Ernesto 'Tito' Mercado stated that he is interested in facing Shakur Stevenson and Teofimo Lopez after his recent knockout victory over Antonio Moran last weekend at the Adventist Health Arena in Stockton, California.

In statements to Lalosboxing, Tito Mercado expressed confidence and asserted that if Stevenson takes the World Boxing Organization (WBO) belt from Lopez, he will seek a fight with him. "I want Teofimo. I want Shakur. I want Keyshawn," said the fighter from Upland, California. In fact, the American predicted that Shakur Stevenson will be the winner of the fight and mentioned the reasons why he believes Teofimo Lopez will be at a disadvantage on January 31st. "I think Shakur will win simply because we've seen that Teofimo struggles a lot against boxers and guys who move around the ring. It's not his specialty. When guys get close to Teofimo, that's when he knows how to connect and counter. But attacking isn't his strength, so I think Shakur should be able to beat him fairly easily," he expressed. In his recent bout, Mercado demonstrated a well-defined strategy and precise execution. After knocking Moran down in the opening round, he maintained his offense, landing effective punches and registering a remarkable 72% accuracy rate. His performance was characterized by the precision of his counterattacks, a powerful left hook, and the use of long-range body shots. It was in the sixth round when Tito Mercado sent Moran to the canvas with a right hand, and the referee stopped the fight at 2:37. In addition to Stevenson, Lopez, and Davis, Tito Mercado also mentioned names like Jermaine Ortiz, Devin Haney, and Andy Cruz, with their sights set on major fights in 2026. Ernesto 'Tito' Mercado, 24, won the WBO International Super Lightweight title and plans to challenge the division's top contenders. The American remains undefeated in the sport with a record of 18 wins, 17 of them by knockout.
