The 20-year-old University of Alabama at Birmingham player allegedly attacked his teammates hours before a game
After allegedly stabbing two teammates hours before a home game, offensive lineman Daniel Mincey, 20, of the University of Alabama at Birmingham ( UAB) was arrested and charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault.
According to Jefferson County court records, Mincey attacked the team's defensive lineman JaSire Peterson and Joshua Underwood with a weapon.
Just before the match against South Florida, the football operations tower was attacked on Saturday night in the UAB campus.
Authorities have not revealed the motive behind the assault, and the nature of the encounter is not being described in official documents.
After a time at the University of Kentucky, Mincey, a 6-foot-4 redshirt freshman rude guard from Pompano Beach, Florida, signed with UAB.

Brown and Peterson were released from the hospital and are still recovering, according to interim head trainer Alex Mortensen.

AUB lost to South Florida 48-18, giving them a 3-8 record ( 11-6 in the American Conference ). On November 29, they will play Tulsa in their last game of the season.
