A judge was requested by the Department of Justice ( DOJ) to halt a California law that forbids federal agents, including immigration agents, from wearing masks while on active duty in the state.

The delivery, according to Judge attorneys, interferes with federal enforcement activities as it was approved on Wednesday.

Federal immigration officials and other law enforcement officers are prohibited from covering their faces by the clause, which was signed by Governor Gavin Newsom on September 20, 2025.
