The FBI fined drone operators and confiscated their aircraft after violating temporary federal flight restrictions in restricted areas during events related to the 2026 World Cup in the Los Angeles area.
The FBI office in Los Angeles reported that the Drone Control Team was monitoring the airspace during the game that took place on Friday night at the Los Angeles Stadium, known as SoFi Stadium, between the United States and Paraguay teams.
“The FBI drone enforcement team was working intensively during last night's World Cup game and at related events to ensure that drone pilots do not violate FAA temporary flight restrictions,” the agency posted on social media this Saturday.
