James Talarico, candidate for senator from Texas, considers the insults he has received from President Donald Trump and Ken Paxton, Attorney General of Texas, out of date and even corny.

"He may be the worst Texas candidate I have ever seen. He is a strong defender of open borders, he is weak on crime, he believes there are 6 genders, he insults Jesus Christ, he will never support the military, he wore a mask a lot until recently. It is an insult to Jesus Christ," Trump wrote about Talarico on the Truth Social platform last month.

These comments were disparaged by the Democrat in a new interview given to the MS NOW television channel.

"I honestly have a feeling that people all over the state are sick of this politics-turned-pro-wrestling thing, right? There are those old guys covered in self-tanner, throwing cheesy nicknames at each other," he said.

In early March, Austin Rep. James Talarico defeated fellow Dallas congressman Jasmine Crockett in the Democratic primary for Senate in the “Lone Star State.”

Seminarian Talarico and his campaign focused on faith, as well as love of neighbor as an antidote to division, obtained a surprise victory over a woman who had the support of former Vice President Kamala Harris.

Talarico is 36 years old and is currently studying to become a pastor, something unusual among politicians of his generation, but who seems to have made a good impression among those who have been paying attention to his work as a representative since he was elected in November 2018, this after beating Republican Cynthia Flores on the ballot.

From that moment on, the Democratic politician was the object of insults and disqualifications, even calling into question his sexual preference, which, far from worrying him, fuels the hope that he can win on the ballot.

"I think these name-calling and these personal attacks do not meet the needs of Texans. They show that they have no idea how to get this economy back on track. They have no solutions to reduce labor costs or to raise wages. So if they don't have a compelling case to make to voters, I think that's a good sign for our chances in November," he said.
