Not every day a manufacturer decides to launch a car thinking directly on the collectors. Lexus took advantage of the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the IS to present a special configuration that will not go unnoticed, both by its color and by the limited number of units that will arrive on the market.

The presentation took place in Miami, the city that served as the last stop of the Lexus IS 25th Legacy Tour. There appeared the new Special Appearance Package, a proposal based on the IS 350 F SPORT that seeks to give a different identity to the well-known sports sedan.

Its production will be limited to only 350 units for North America, a detail that could make it one of the most interesting versions for those who follow the history of the Lexus IS closely.
The first thing that draws attention is the new color of the car. Lexus chose a tint called Envious, an intense green that completely changes the presence of the vehicle and goes away from the more traditional configurations of the model.
To accompany that image, the sedan receives 19-inch black BBS forged wheels. The combination of the outer green and the dark finish of the wheels gives the IS a more aggressive appearance, in line with the F SPORT identity.
The model did not receive mechanical modifications for this edition, although it retains sufficient arguments to remain one of Lexus’ most particular sports sedans.
The green color is also present inside the vehicle. The F SPORT seats are covered in black NuLuxe with Ultrasuede inserts and green seams that create a direct connection with the body tone.
Lexus added chromed satin details to enhance the sense of exclusivity. The idea is that this version will clearly differ from a conventional IS without completely altering the essence that has accompanied the model over its 25 years of history.
Since 2022, the brand hasined the custom of launching special configurations of the IS. This new proposal is part of that tradition, although now coincides with a important date for the sedan.
The Lexus IS 2027ins the 3.5 litre natural aspiration V6 engine, capable of developing 311 horsepower and 280 pounds-foot torque.
The rear-wheel drive versions use an automatic eight-speed transmission, while the full-wheel-wheel configurations feature a six-speed automatic transmission.
The Special Appearance Package also incorporates the Handling Package. This adds the Adaptive Variable Suspension suspension with a sport-oriented configuration, multiple driving modes and a limited Torsen rear sliding differential in rear-wheel-driven models.
Lexus did not want to limit this edition to a new paint and exclusive wheels. The IS also incorporates the Technology Package, which includes systems such as Traffic Jam Assist, Lane Change Assist and Front Cross Traffic Alert.
Available equipment includes triple beam LED headlights, corred ceiling, parking assistance, panoramic view monitor, electric rear curtain and a Mark Levinson sound system.
It will also feature Smart Access, while the set of sports and technological elements seeks to justify its position as one of the more complete versions of the sedan.
Exclusivity will be one of the main arguments of this Lexus IS 2027.The brand confirmed that it will only manufacture 350 units of the Special Appearance Package for the U.S. market.
For now, Lexus has not announced the official price of this version.The IS Sport 2027 has a base price of $47,000, so this special edition is likely to exceed $50,000.
