The Mexican stand-up world was surprised this January 10th, when comedian Adrian Marcelo announced through his social media an indefinite retirement from the stage. The artist posted on his X account: “I’m going to retire from comedy, for an indefinite period.” Although he didn’t specify the concrete reasons that led him to this decision, Marcelo assured that his desire to be “the best Mexican comedian remains INTACT.” In his statement, he explained: “But for the moment, I need to invest time in myself. It’s fair and necessary.” He promised his followers that he will return renewed and concluded with a hopeful message: “We’ll see each other again on stage, I have no doubt.” The retirement will be exclusively from live performances. The stand-up comedian confirmed that he will continue his work with his friend Ivan Fematt 'La Mole' on the podcast 'Hermanos de Leche' (Milk Brothers). “In the episodes of Hermanos de Leche, I’ll continue being the same acidic and crude son of a bitch,” he joked. His last live performances with this project are scheduled for February 2026 in the United States. San Diego will host the show on February 13, and Las Vegas on the 14th. Marcelo invited his audience to attend, describing the show as a “meticulous” work, full of “love and a lot of effort.”

Separation Rumors

The announcement comes amid rumors on social media about an alleged marital crisis with his wife, Karina Puente. Hours before the announcement, a screenshot purporting to be an Instagram story from the comedian with a pessimistic message about the marriage went viral, although the post was quickly deleted.

Adrian Marcelo indirectly addressed the scandal by responding to a follower on X who commented on the fake news. “Hahaha, that’s how things are, my Lluvia!! Love you!”, he wrote, in a reply that his fans interpreted as a denial of the rumors.

It is worth remembering that, in the past, the former participant of La Casa de los Famosos Mexico had confessed to having gone through difficulties in his marriage after his time on the reality show.
