One of his closest friends is now in charge of one of the most delicate branches of the federal government while a permanent substitution is determined, according to the national press. President Donald Trump appointed Bill Pulte as acting director of National Intelligence on Tuesday.
After announcing her departure, Pulte, who now serves on the boards of directors of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, will step down as the FHA's head.
Trump made the announcement through his Truth Social system, which highlighted Pulte's expertise in managing financial organizations and issues that are viewed as proper for the nation.
Trump emphasizes Pulte knowledge
The leader stated in his text that the visit is in response to the assurance he has in his collaborator's capacity to believe high-level responsibilities.
"I am appointing Federal Housing Finance Agency Director and Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac Chairman William J. Pulte to serve as Acting Director of National Intelligence. William has deep experience managing some of America's most sensitive issues, the safety and soundness of the markets and more than $10 trillion in Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac," Trump wrote.
The president added that Pulte will simultaneously maintain his current responsibilities leading the FHFA and the two federally backed mortgage giants.
“During this period he will remain as director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency and president of Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac. Congratulations to Director Pulte!” Trump added.
