A former Hispanic representative for the California Congress planned to steal more than$ 250, 000 of his campaign funds from his mother and a friend, according to the Department of Justice. He was sentenced to four years in federal prison. ( DOJ).
Omar Navarro, 37, was charged with using about$ 100, 000 to pay for trips to Las Vegas to protect himself from abuse allegations.
Navarro also admitted to spending the money on video game for the Nintendo Switch, according to a DOJ speech.
