According to court papers released this year, a man in Houston was charged with murder for allegedly trying to cover up the murder by killing his girlfriend.

Jesus Varela, 48, allegedly shot Christelrose numerous instances on December 1st, according to the records. Varela allegedly forced his brother to assist him place the victim's figure inside four bags that were then sealed inside a barrel following the murder. In the city's north, the chamber was left behind. The defendant reportedly dumped the barrel containing Ramirez's remains near the intersection of Highway 249 and Ella, in west Houston, according to court records. According to court records, Varela had already been accused of tampering with a body, assaulting a family member, and unlawful imprisonment prior to the murder charge. As government pursue the criminal case against him, Jesus Varela is expected to appear in court again on Monday, according to court records.
