The death of director Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele, has just taken a turn, after their death certificate was released.

According to the document released by TMZ, which belongs to the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, the couple died from multiple injuries caused by a sharp, pointed object.

The same document also details that the deaths of both, which occurred on December 14, happened within minutes of the severity of their injuries.

Rob Reiner was pronounced dead at 3:45 pm, while Michele was pronounced dead one minute later.

With this information, the authorities concluded that both died in the moments following the attack and the cause was homicide.

In addition to this information, it also came to light that Rob and Michele's remains were cremated at the Mount Sinai Funeral Home and later given to them families.

For this double homicide, Nick Reiner, one of their sons, was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder. His sentence has not yet been announced, but it is believed he could face the death penalty or life imprisonment.
