Lint, small particles or hair can turn sweeping the floor from a simple task to a complete household challenge. The reason is that these residues usually get trapped between the broom bristles or dispersed again on the floor.
To avoid this, there is a homemade trick that consists of covering the broom with a plastic bag before starting to sweep. Although it seems like an unusual trick, it seeks to take advantage of the characteristics of plastic to facilitate the collection of certain waste and make daily cleaning more practical.

What is the purpose of covering the broom with a bag and why does it work?
The objective of covering the broom bristles with a bag is to facilitate the collection of light waste. As you move the plastic across the floor, it can generate static electricity from contact and friction, which helps attract things like hair, pet hair, lint, and small dust particles.
When sweeping traditionally with a broom you could leave behind some of this waste, for example, hair or pet hair, which ends up tangled in the bristles. With the bag covering the bottom of the broom, a greater amount of dirt can remain in groups and be removed later along with the plastic.
Likewise, this trick reduces contact between dirt and the strings. In this way, cleaning the broom after sweeping can be easier and the possibility of some residue being distributed on the floor again is reduced.
The most important thing is to get a bag large enough to fit snugly on the broom while you sweep. First, place the bag around the broom bristles and use the handles or strips to attach to the broom with a firm knot.
Next, sweep the floor normally, paying special attention to the areas where hair and lint tend to accumulate. When finished, carefully untie the bag and turn it over so that the collected waste remains inside.
