Sheinbaum calls on the UN to assume its role to avoid bloodshed after Trump's blockade of Venezuelan oil ships
The Mexican president insisted that Mexico's position on international conflicts will always be non-intervention and dialogue for peace
After the United States announced it would stop oil tankers entering or leaving the country from Venezuela, the president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, called on the UN to assume its role in preventing bloodshed.
It hasn't been seen as the UN playing its part in preventing any bloodshed and often seeking peaceful resolutions to conflicts, she said.
The Mexican president argued that the key to peace must always be discourse and non-intervention, as well as any other Mexican president, in the face of global issues.
We reiterate Mexico's status, in accordance with the Constitution, of non-intervention, non-foreign intervention, self-determination of citizens, and above all, peaceful resolution of disputes, in light of President Trump's statement from yesterday and the situation in Venezuela. We affirm our judgment and the Constitution that dialogue and peace, rather than intervention, should be used in any foreign dispute. Any leader of Mexico has often hold that position, she remarked.
The Mexican leader's comments come after President Donald Trump declared a" complete blockade" against sanctioned oil ships. " Beyond the Venezuelan regime, about the presidency of Maduro, Mexico's position must always be little to intervention, not to foreign interference, peaceful resolution of problems, and dialogue for peace," he said.
