The America announced on Wednesday the hiring of the Spanish Carlos Álvarez, a 23-year-old midfielder who arrives from the Levante UD to reinforce the team led by Guillermo Almada.
“Welcome to the biggest Mexican, Carlos Álvarez,” the blue cream team posted on its social networks alongside a photo of the Sanlúcar-born footballer wearing the Águilas T-shirt.
The Spanish is joining a midfield of America in which the Colombian Óscar Perea and the Brazilian Ícaro Conceicao also appear, seeking to strengthen the plant’s internal competition.

Alvarez’s arrival did not surprise the technician. A day earlier, Guillermo Almada had advanced that the footballer was about to join America and highlighted that he already knew his qualities from his passage by Spanish football.
“We are trying to complete the staff so that the internal competition is stronger. Carlos is a footballer with very good conditions, which we know from our passage through Spanish football,” he said.
The new blue cream reinforcement mainly stands out for its ability to distribute the ball, generate offensive game and overcome rivals with its individual ability. In addition, it has a mid-range shot that can become another alternative to the American attack.
Álvarez arrives in Mexico after becoming an important footballer for the Levante, team with which he achieved the rise to the Spanish First Division.
During his passage by the ensemble blaugrana played 101 matches between the First and Second Division and achieved 13 goals, figures that reflect the protagonism he achieved in the team.
His professional career began in 2019 with Sevilla Atlético, before jumping to the first team of Sevilla. In 2023 he participated with the Sevillan team in the top category of Spanish football and subsequently signed with the Levante.

Before jumping to Mexican football, Carlos Álvarez also took part in the Spanish youth teams, reaching the sub-21 category.
Now he will face one of the most important challenges of his career with America, where he will seek to win a place in the team of Guillermo Almada and provide his ability to generate game from the midfield.
Álvarez’ recording occurs as America passes through an important moment of the season. On Wednesday, the Eagles will face Monterrey in the semi-finals of the Leagues Cup, a tournament that faces clubs from the MX League and the Major League Soccer.
