The current unified minimum weight champion, Oscar Collazo, demonstrated physical adaptability to the new tonnage and managed to send his opponent to the canvas three times during the course of the second round.

Statements after the victory in Oceanside

At the end of the confrontation broadcast worldwide on the DAZN streaming platform, the Villalba fighter analyzed the difficulties prior to the fight and the strategy that allowed him to define the actions in the ring.

"I felt great. A lot of things happened before this fight, but I felt great in there. First, I want to thank Eric Gomez, Golden Boy and Miguel Cotto Promotions for giving me this opportunity and continuing to push me. People don't understand how difficult it was to make this fight, but thank God we got the victory," declared Oscar Collazo to the official DAZN signal.

The Puerto Rican athlete explained that his goal is to establish a long stay in the flyweight division to compete for absolute crowns in the medium term.

Regarding his attack plan in the ring, the 29-year-old boxer explained that he focused on measuring his opponent's right hand to find the regulatory space that would allow him to connect his straight left. "I felt great at 112 pounds. I love this division. In fact, I want to stay here for a long time," added Oscar Collazo when justifying the stoppage of the fight by the rival corner after the third fall.
