Construction work does not stop in the presidential complex due to President Donald Trump's new desire to provide it with a million-dollar heliport.

Since his return to Washington, the 80-year-old Republican anticipated that he would renovate the White House, starting with the construction of a Ballroom in the style of European courts whose cost would be around $200 million, an amount that would be contributed by the main technology companies operating in the country.

The work involved the demolition of the east wing of the White House and from this more works began to emerge, such as the remodeling of the Lincol Bathroom, a space used by guests of honor who come to the property.

Added to the list was the installation of plaques under the portraits of the presidents throughout the nation's history, this on the so-called “Presidential Walk of Fame,” which is located along the colonnade of the West Wing.

Subsequently, it was determined to pave the grass of the Rose Garden to create a patio with tables and two large flagpoles in the north and south gardens.

While all this has happened in recent months, the cost of the Ballroom has practically tripled and there is now talk that it will literally be a bunker with a drone port on its roof, a project that will involve more than $600 million dollars.

The objective is to be able to respond to a possible attack without exposing the integrity of the nation's leader or that of his family.

And to close out Trump's wish list, at least for the moment, construction has also begun on a helipad this time on the South Lawn of the White House.

This project was announced during an event held in the Oval Office, where it was stated that the work, which cost close to $6 million in costs, would be financed by Sikorsky Aircraft, the manufacturer of the Marine One helicopter.

"Now we are building a helipad, a beautiful helipad, and it has the seal of the White House, engraved in granite, carved in granite. It is something really beautiful. They are paying the full cost," he said.

It should be noted that the US Navy awarded Sikorsky Aircraft a $1.24 billion contract to replace the fleet of Marine One helicopters and perhaps that is where the fact that it has chosen to assume the full cost of the heliport planned by the nation's leader derives from.
