Through a vote, Republicans in the House of Representatives approved a funding package for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Border Patrol, which aligns with the policy promoted by President Donald Trump.

After several weeks of remaining stagnant, the budget reconciliation package close to $70 billion dollars advanced with the support of 214 votes in favor and 212 against.

Although all Democrats voted to oppose the measure and even had the support of Kevin Kiley, an independent representative from California, they fell short and could do nothing to prevent the package from reaching the desk of the head of the nation awaiting his signature.
