The investigation into the train motion and disaster that took place in the south of Spain on Sunday expanded to include both the state of the trail and the rolling stock systems of the affected trains, with a 39-injured hospitalized as a result.

When a coach operated by the state-owned business Renfe, which was going from Madrid to Huelva, collided with another coach operated by the Italian-Spanish business Iryo, which was going from Malaga to the capital, the incident took place in the town of Adamuz, in the state of Cordoba. The incident took place after one of the trains had formerly derailed, which authorities described as strange. The Interior Minister, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, declared in a public appearance that no willful act is to be done. However, he has absolutely rejected any such action. He argued without mentioning any acts of sabotage, that Spain's railway system was "absolutely strong and safe. " In addition to looking into the joints of both railways and other products that passed through the region before the incident, investigators also discovered fractures in a section of track. The Civil Guard is now focusing its efforts on vehicle six of the Iryo station, the first of its kind, according to the Minister of Transport, Oscar Puente, before turning the task over to specific professional team. The Railway Accident Investigation Commission ( CIAF ) initially estimated that the Iryo train had crashed, and two of its final cars had already scurried into the nearby track. The Renfe Alvia collided with those cars only 20 hours later, causing two people train cars to drop down an embankment of about four feet in a rural area. More than 150 people were initially treated by the emergency services in the first accident to occur on a high-speed line in Spain, which is considered one of the most serious in recent decades. 13 of the injured who are still hospitalized are in intensive care units. One of them is a minor.

Rescue efforts continue.

Operationen to secure the rescue and site are still going on. In terrain described as steep and difficult to access, more than 50 military personnel are helping to stabilize the damaged carriages and provide logistical support to emergency services. Once the safety work is finished, technicians will move forward with the removal of the trains from the tracks, a process that might take several days.

Just three days prior to the collision, the Iryo train, which was manufactured in 2022, passed a technical inspection on January 15. The high-speed rail connection between central and southern Spain was suspended as a result of the collision, which authorities anticipate returning to normal operation in early February. Renfe, which remained a monopoly on passenger rail transportation until 2021, is currently trading on the same stock as new rivals Ouigo and Iryo, both of which have a majority stake in Trenitalia.
