The gas pipeline rupture, which occurred on Saturday afternoon in the Castaic region, was deemed to be the result of SOCALGas ' efforts to assess the damage? Due to a natural oil hole, Los Angeles County forced the closure of Freeway 5 for several days.

According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department ( LACoFD), the incident occurred on December 27 at around 4:20 p. m. near Ridge Route Road and Pine Crest Place on a gas line running alongside Freeway 5.

Under 600 pounds per square inch of force, a 34-inch petrol pipeline ruptured. A limited disaster was reported in the area as a result of the pipe tear.
